Yeah I have a straight male friend who's mom is a lesbian. He doesn't really get why guys are so into lesbians. I think guys are more turned on by the concept than the reality. (After all bi and lesbian women are just regular women and are rarely supermodels)
I don't mind what gender you are as long as you enjoy reading it. :)

I'm a guy, had many les or bi female friends and yeah they're definitely not like the media shows them.
I had my gf stating to me few days ago "oh I bet you would like to see me kiss another girl, it would turn you on!"
My answer to her was: "it wouldnt, I would rather disgust you" and I explained her (in a bad way) that guys might like fictional lesbians, but no the real ones.

Said this, I love the world and the people, being les/bi/gay/straight wathever.
And this comic is excellent. I like it, hope you don't mind a male reader.

I must say I'm already in love with this comic.
I mean: awesome drawing skills - check, lesbian content - check, sarcasm - check, kickass title for a webcomic - check.
Besides, all those chat dudes bring me memories lol Ahh the wonders of been a teen and having creepy experiences with the internet when you're in search for some light...
Thank you for this story, I'll come back for more ;D

What's the saying? Every girl is two drinks away from being bisexual? There's an oddly sad truth to that. I can't give specific references, but I remember a while back reading about how teenage girls described making out with each other not because they enjoyed it but because they knew it would make the guys around them horny and happy.

I've got a webcomic that'll be starting in the future. The two main characters are young women who are in love with each other. My biggest worry, beyond total failure in general, is portraying them poorly and without sensitivity.

BWAAAHAHAA, J Gray. That's not how I wanted to start my comment on this page but your thought on Mad/Brit are hilarious.

You're right, BratKitty, the media is where most people encounter lesbianism and unfortunately, it's rarely the news media. Entertainment really destroys the value of the LGBT community, particularly lesbians and bi girls, into sexual fantasies and nothing more.

It's so easy to slip into "serious" conversation/debate on your comic because if you are of the LGBT community, you experience daily conversation like the IM chats all the time. Although, I've never had the IM chats, it happens in real life at every bar, party, and many ridiculous conversations. I think everybody looks for that opportunity to say, "Ugh, I've been here and it sucks/ makes me angry/ makes me cringe ..." because compared to media coverage (entertainment, mostly) I rarely say, "Oh yes, all the time, I do it like the L Word girls all the time, everywhere, with every girl EVER! Because every woman is a secret lesbian, just like the L Word says."

Honestly, the Madonna/Britney thing bothered me a bit. I realize they aren't really related but it was sort of like watching a mom french her daughter. Her much dumber, less talented daughter.

Well I think a lot of it is that a lot of people have never encountered lesbians (that they know of) and so they go to their next frame of reference, which for the most part is indeed the media.
Yeah I think my biggest face-palm moment was the Britney/Madonna kiss. >_< That's a blatant publicity moment if I ever saw one, and everyone bought it hook, line, and sinker.

I think you have the media, partly, to blame here. The exposure these guys get to lesbians is mostly to porn, which is for their entertainment. They decide that means lesbians are there to entertain. More acceptable media doesn't help either, since girl-to-girl kisses are used as a way to prop up ratings during sweeps week. I always know its sweeps week when they start touting how a main female character is gonna kiss another female character.
